As a mediator, Shelly’s goal is to encourage clients to communicate directly with one another to shape outcomes that are more unique than what the Court might do, and tailored to meet individual family needs. If an agreement is reached in mediation, then as a mediator, Shelly can prepare a written document that satisfies the Agreement requirements of mutual consent law.

Maryland Experience

A lifelong resident of Maryland, Shelly is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Baltimore School of Law. The first in her family to obtain a graduate degree, Shelly earned her law degree at night while working full-time as a Law Clerk for the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office. After graduating from law school, Shelly had the prestigious honor of serving as a Judicial Clerk to retired Judge Steven I. Platt of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland.

As a child of divorce and a person who has been divorced herself, Shelly understands the uncertainty and frustrations of custody and divorce.
